During our comprehensive course, you will understand the key fundamentals of what consists of good quality soil for your crops and how to make compost. 

Here are the topics that you will learn in the course:

• How to improve soil quality
• Composting techniques for small scale, medium scale and large scale urban farming

Average class duration is 7 hours (6 hours in class, and 1 hr online elearning). Your elearning account userid and password will be given to you when you come for the course.

 Confused by so many soil types sold in nurseries and gardening centres?

We will teach you how to identify different types of soil and understand which is use under which scenarios. You will learn to do key soil testing and analysis.

Learn to cultivate a Lively soil by creating a habitat for microorganism and earthworms to multiply

 Recognise how to improve your soil and what crops to use for which type of soil

 Learn different methods of composting 
(suitable for larger scale in Farms, as well as smaller scales in community gardens and at home )

Learn to improve your soil health by having the root planting strategy to develop Root Nodules

If you do not have enough SkillsFuture Credits, you can pay the balance via cash on actual day of class.
